Bristol And Wales Cat Rescue

Working Together To Give Cats A Second Chance

Nell and Ruby

I would just like to drop you a quick email to thank you very much for allowing us to adopt Ruby and Nell.  It is now just over a year since we got them and they have both developed so much.

They are both very different characters and both full of life.  Nell is now doing really well after overcoming her flu, she is now bigger that her sister and is not afraid of anything.  Ruby is very much the timid one who has a mischievous streak in her.

They both are very important members of our family and really give us great joy.  Our Staffie is still being terrorised by them but he has learnt to put up with them.

Once again thank you

Rufus

Remember me (Ginge) my name is now Rufus, and I was rescued from off the streets of Bristol, I now live in the Cotswolds with a huge garden to play in, I came to live with my new owners in December, I was quite naughty when I arrived, by scratching the newly decorated kitchen wall paper, and scratching and nipping my owners.

I now go outside but not too far away, I use the cat flap to let myself out but as the door is left open for me I always come back in that way I love sleeping in my snuggly cat bed, but prefer to sleep on the big bed where I can snuggle under the duvet. Di, my new owner, has taught me to eat my food in the dish on the floor, not on the counter top; as I am the only cat I am fed three times a day with a mixture of wet and dry food, and a tit bit called Temptations as a treat when I have been good

I am growing into a big cat hence the photograph, I love living with my new owners and thank you for rescuing me and finding me such a lovely place for me to live and rule. Rufus

Millie

I just wanted to give you an update on Millie (formerly Penelope, we adopted her early Jan). We are so happy we adopted her; she has really turned our house into a real home and I love coming back from work every day to her loud purring. She’s so affectionate – quite naughty but never OTT, just hyperactive! – and we love playing with her. She seems happy too – she’s put on weight, is far less skittish, and basically just drapes herself in long shapes around the house, purring. When I work from home she sits on my lap all day; she’s lovely company.

A massive thank you to Tracey and Tyler for fostering her, and to you all for all your amazing work with neglected and abandoned cats. The stories on your website are so sad initially, and really heartwarming later on. I can’t tell you how glad we are that we came to you. It’s amazing seeing a frightened, skinny cat turning into a healthy, happy pet.

Princess, Tommy and Tabatha

Tommy (ginger one)  sits looking out the patio window over the balcony where he can see all of the ground.  He makes that chattering noise every time he sees a bird and you can see him thinking to himself, one day this territory will all be mine.
Princess ( black and white one)  Named by my daughter, but actually she is well named as she goes around as if she is a princess.  Can be shy, but always very proud.
Tabatha (white and tabby one)  She's very bold and keeps tormenting the dog, (sometimes the other 2 join her in the game).  She likes to be with you most of the time and lies down as close to you as possible.

Murphy

Well he's settled in no problem.  Explored the whole house, sampled all the different food on offer, enjoyed all the toys in the toy corner and finally settled on top of me to watch television all the time ignoring Posy who has not moved from the back of the sofa growling at him.  She's used to dogs beating a hasty retreat when she growls - doesn't know what to make of Murphy who just carries on!

Zeus and Magic

Its taken us a while but we wanted to let you know how gorgeous the kittens (brother and sister) that we got from you last summer are.

They are all grown up now at about 9 months old, and they are fantastic and we wouldn`t be without them.  Zeus is an extremely handsome cat with a massive appetite, whereas Magic is a bit more of a trouble maker, but very affectionate - provided it's on her terms!  They are both wonderful characters and if anyone is thinking of adopting cats from BW rescue they really should!  We only went to adopt one but are so so pleased that we adopted both, they are great friends and hang out together all the time.  We`ve attached a couple of photos of the cats so you can see how gorgeous they are.

Tilly and Theo

I thought I'd mail a quick update on Theo (long haired boy previously Thistle) and Tilly (short haired girl previously Tansy). And send some photos to show how well they've settled in.

I've only had them 2 months but they've settled in so well and have completely taken over my life! I love them both to pieces. They're brother and sister but don't get on particularly well.

Tilly is a little Princess, she lives in a world of her own, not demanding much attention and is a very happy little cat. Her favourite place is right under a radiator. She won't eat anything but cat food, even turns her nose up at freshly cooked chicken!

Theo is an absolute sweetie, he wants cuddling ALL of the time. He's not the brightest of boys, keeps getting himself locked in the bedroom and can't work out how to get the door open, and he got stuck on the garage roof one day. I call him my Special Cat.

They charge around the house fighting and have separate corners of the bed at night. But the minute I wake up in the morning Theo is up on my pillow demanding his breakfast. He seems to be constantly hungry.

They both follow me around the house like dogs, if I'm upstairs one or both of them is usually hovering in the doorway.

They're slowly getting used to going outside, Theo loved playing in the snow. I don't think they've quite sussed out the fish pond yet - long may that continue!

I'm so glad I adopted them both, I just hope someone adopts Tulip their friend soon.

Maya

Just to let you know that Maya (female Silver Tabby x Ginger Tom cross from
Pembrokeshire) is doing very well. She weighs a little more than 800g now
and we will be taking her into the vet to start her inoculations soon. She
has settled well in to the house and its hard to remember life without her
now!

Attached is a picture taken over the weekend. She likes to sit on our
shoulders and survey the goings on, when she isn't tearing around the house
playing 'ambush' or 'hide-and-seek' with the children! It has been
difficult to get photos of her as she's so inquisitive that she moves about
to investigate the camera and it's almost impossible to get the camera to
auto-focus!

Jemmy and Pixie

"Following our adoption of Pixie and Jemmy ten days ago, we'd like to thank you for letting us have such adorable kitties!!!  The Rescue Centre has dealt with the issue professionally, and the foster 'parents' Tracey and Tyler spent time telling us everything we needed to know about their characters, likes and foibles!  In the ten days here, they are now settled and confident, asking us for a 'cwtch' (snuggle) when the mood takes them!"
