Ever since we got Betty she has been ever so good and we can't imagine life without her. Everyone who sees her says she is very pretty, even at the vets they are impressed by how pretty she is, and how well behaved!
As she is my first pet I always get nervous taking her to the vet, but I think I am more worried than she is as she always makes me proud - every time we have been she has been good as gold and not at all fussed by strange people/jabs/microchipping/medicine. She also enjoys having her lovely fluffy hair brushed, and if you are gentle she will let you brush her tummy too. Since she realised she is now big enough to be able to jump into the bath, her new favourite toy is the plug on its chain, though she is very confused when the shower comes on! She will try and play with absolutely anything and will always follow you around to see what you're up to. Her favourite thing though is to curl up on your lap and have a snooze, especially if you tickle under her chin. I sometimes imagine what would have happened to her if her pregnant mum hadn't been found in time, and it makes me extra grateful that we could give her a good home.
Thanks to Bristol and Wales cat rescue for bringing Betty into our lives - I'm sure Betty is thankful too, though she may not know it!
I adopted my lovely kitten at three months old from you in January, after she had a terrible start – having been dumped with her littermates in a binbag out in the terrible pre-Christmas weather. As a result she had contracted flu and lost all sight in one eye, as well as being very tiny.
Well she settled in quickly – five minutes after being dropped off she was stretched out on my lap, and ever since then has very definitely ruled the roost! My eight-year-old pedigree Tiffanie didn’t know what had hit him, and now he has a friend he plays like a kitten. My friend moved in with me in June, bringing her gigantic Persian, who is bossed about umercifully by this little tortie slip a third of his size.
She is doing incredibly well, it turns out she is extremely clever, I have never met a cleverer cat, which makes it a challenge to keep her occupied and out of trouble! Her eye is much better, it is permanently damaged unfortunately but we are trying a new treatment to improve it, and she can see much better than she used to, she looks at things perfectly straight now. She is growing up into a beautiful young cat, and I took her to a GCCF show along with our pedigree cats, and apart from causing quite a stir with her affectionate and slightly naughty ways (insisting on sitting on my arm not in the pen!) she came home with two big red ribbons! She is coming to the supreme in November, so fingers crossed!
She is an absolutely perfect addition to our household, and I can’t remember life without her any more – although I seem to remember it wasn’t quite so much hard work!
Hello. Well it has been over a month since we adopted our kitten Bella. She didn't have a name as such but came from the Tinker, Mischief, Rascal and Ruffian litter. She is a typical kitten zooming around the place for a couple of hours then crashing out for ages. She loves chasing a big marker pen top along our wooden floor. Her favourite craze at the moment is sitting in our bathroom sink and playing with the dripping tap. As she is quite naughty this has proved very popular with my toddler who finds her very entertaining. When she is not being a little minx she is a loving puss who follows us everywhere and enjoys a good cuddle and stroke. She is on my lap purring as I write this. Thank you B&W Cat Rescue for this super cat we can't imagine our home without her now.
Here are a couple of photos of Jack (formerly Gershwin) settling into his new home.
As his foster carer knows, he doesn't sit still for two seconds so getting pictures can be difficult! He's been very entertaining, playing with everything and investigating every corner of our house. He's very loving and enjoys his cuddles. Jack hasn't been remotely phased by moving to a new home and it feels like he's been here forever now. We're so pleased to have a cat with such a big personality! Thanks to Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue.
Just a quick update on Little Lady her fur is starting to grow back now-she has some white wispy bits by her back legs! She is so gorgeous and has started to wash and groom herself now. She eats so much it is unbelievable!! As you approach with food she sounds like a tractor starting up! As you can see she has a lovely new pink bed.
She looks so innocent but we have caught her out going crazy at night time and she has been back to the vets and has put on a bit of weight!
Hi, I've attached some recent pictures of Fraggle and Rocky. They had their second vaccination today, I can't believe it's only been 3 weeks since they moved in! It's very difficult to imagine the place without them now! They are very healthy and happy with us. We're so glad we took Rocky as well as Fraggle, they play together so nicely and he is such a little cuddler so thank you for helping us make that decision.

I hope life is treating you all well and that things are going well with all the rescue cats.
Remember Snowdrop? I thought you might like to know how she's getting on! We dithered for ages over whether to change her name, and in the end we decided to call her Echo. She seemed to settle in quite quickly and seemed quite chuffed with her new home. I still haven't worked her out completely as she's a strange little thing, most definitely in a world of her own, but very lovely. At first she was dainty and tiny, but now she's a clodhopping pot-bellied little ball of fuzz! She's very vocal - I've worked out what the soft little "graht!" means ("ooh! food! how exciting!") and "vrvrvrvrvrvrt!" ("coming through!") and also "BMBMBMRRR!!" ("HERE I AM!"). I'm still working on deciphering "mrrraaoooooggrrrvvtt" which seems to come out of nowhere.
She's quite shy around those she doesn't know - in her third week she had a bit of a panic about next door's dog which set her confidence back a bit - so doesn't like to be outside if we're not with her, but she acts as our little sentry and sits on the doorstep keeping an eye out for intruders. She's very sociable and while not a cuddly cat (yet), she likes to come and see what's going on - she sticks her nose into everything and likes to help with the weeding. She's worked out her favourite places to snooze, and generally appears on the bed at some point in the middle of the night. You have to be careful not to sit on her - because she's so white, and so are the bedclothes, you can't see her in the dark unless her eyes are open!! She's rubbish at hunting because all the mice and things can see her coming a mile off - but so far she's caught two elephant hawk moths (probably attracted to her brightness!), and crashed in through the livingroom window with them in her mouth while we were watching telly. They were still alive and proceeded to flutter all over the room...and I HATE moths!
Thanks so much for giving us the opportunity to give her a forever-home, she's a cracking little girl and it's great having another little companion!

Just to let you know, that I picked up Joanie on Thursday night, and have been at home with her for the past 4 days. I was thinking of calling her Delilah, but as soon as I saw her, I thought "no, it's GOT to be Minnie, because she's so skinny, and miniature!" If you didn't know, it turns out she's also deaf, so when she's downstairs calling you, she can't hear you calling back, bless her! If you want to get her attention, you have to thump your foot on the floor... but on the upside, when she's curled up on the sofa, you can do pretty much anything and she won't notice - including vacuuming! :)
Minnie is just lush - really, we've had SOOOOO many cuddles, even got up early this morning (hmmmm, not that I had much choice!) to have one before I left her, snoring on the sofa, to come to work, boo hoo.
As you know, she's very tidy and well behaved but a NIGHTMARE on the food front, which doesn't help with the weight - so I'm stocking up tonight on EVERYTHING I can find, including some deli-turkey for treats, as she'll eat THAT until she explodes... As she's not very good at washing herself, except for her head, I've started brushing her, and she's getting used to that - when she purrs, her whole body shakes!
Her claws are too long and she's sticking to the carpet at times, so I've had a go and managed one paw, she's quite good about it. I'll tackle each paw one at a time over a few days, so it's not too traumatic. She sleeps downstairs overnight, doesn't seem to want to sleep on my bed, but has taken to waking me up about 5.00 a.m. by sticking her nose in my ear and chirruping quite loudly - and there's no snooze button on her... :) It's official, I'm besotted...
Off to the vet next week to register her, and if she's not too wee between the shoulders, get her chipped, as I won't let her out until then. I'm taking a week off to sort my new garden at the end of the month, so she can promenade by then.
Thank you SO much for trusting me with Minnie, and as soon as my camera batteries re-charge, I'll take some piccies of her to send to you. Also, a donation is on the way in the post to help you with all your good work.
We adopted Bill and Ben- now Benji and Jerry - from you a year ago and I wanted to thank you again for letting us have such gorgeous cuddly little tigers. They had been abandoned by their owners when their house was repossessed and while they hadn't been starved (they are both huge!) they were certainly in need of love and attention. They have settled in beautifully to the life of country cats and rule our house with velvet paws. They love to play - no cat nip mouse lasts more than about 5 minutes, but catching the real ones gives them plenty of exercise. They are very affectionate, and bring us lots of presents- half a rabbit in my work shoes was a low point but we now have a cupboard for shoes! Jerry has shown Houdini tendencies with locked cat flaps- he opened it within 2 minutes of installing it and the only way to keep them in for a vet's appointment is to barricade the flap with a chopping board and a box of potatoes! They are wonderful with visiting children and even restrained themselves with a friend's chickens and guinea pigs that we were looking after while she moved house. I enclose some photos of the two of them enjoying life to the full!
Thank you again for all your hard work and our lovely cats.
Hi! Didn't want you to think that I had forgotten about the pictures of Saffie, out and about in the garden
She's become a real little predator. Spiders and Daddy longlegs beware!!! Benson & Saffie play so well in the garden. They make a great double act. Watching them is better than watching the rubbish they pass for programmes on the TV!
Anyway, I've attached the best pics. You'll see that she's grown a lot too. She's on this great food, called Purely. It's 100% organic and unlike most cat foods that claim to have chicken in it, in Saffie's food you can see the lumps of chicken, and she loves it. (Turned her nose up at the fish one!) She is definitely NOT a fish loving cat!
We are proud owners of our little mate "Pete Tong" who sleeps on the bed, demands chicken and sausages for dinner. Craves attention morning, lunch and tea. We are so grateful to Bristol and Wales for him being able to come into our lives and the little guy is going to cost us an extra plane ticket home to OZ because we love him so much.
Just wanted to send a quick email to thank you so much for our two lovely new cats, Hector (was Raven) and Pippin (was Pippy). We've had Hector for a month now and he is such a playful, inquisitive and friendly kitten. Pippin was originally meant to arrive at around the same time, but as he was ill we had to wait until this week to take him home. He is a very handsome boy and is also a lovely friendly cat. We were a bit concerned about how they would get on, but within minutes they were playing together happily! Thanks to Sarah, Clodagh, and especially Karen and Cathy for looking after them so well before we got them. Here is a rare photo of them both sitting still!
We just wanted to say we’ve settled into our new home very well. We’ve played a lot and slept a lot since Saturday and having so much fun with all our new toys.

Please say thank you to Tracey for looking after us so well. We will keep in touch.
Thought we would tell you how they are doing :), Mylo was supposedly the alpha male, as you can see Kiya is taking full control and Mylo has been demoted to a pillow! they have settled in so well and are slowly finding ways to get mummy and daddys attention whether that be climbing INTO the sofa or UP our curtains or DOWN the back of the TV! they are now vaccinated and waiting to go outside when they are big enough, we would like to thank you all and Sheila for helping us find the perfect kittens for us and raising them into lovely pets. We never thought we would get exactly what we wanted! Mylo is still a little scared of new people unless Mummy is there to protect him and Kiya is literally a princess in every way!
Neo very quickly made himself at home and is doing really well. From the very first day when both of us curled up on the sofa together for an afternoon nap to his now ritual morning cuddle before breakfast, he's proved to be an affectionate little kitty, not without his crazy, playful side though! He knows his own mind and loves to play, even miaowing at us to play with him! His favourite "toy" is, of all things, a piece of screwed up paper! For a brave and at times cheeky kitten, he seems to be illogically scared of balls! He also likes to stand on the chair in the office to watch the comings and goings of the street - such a nosey puss! He's very sociable and follows us around everywhere, and is always pleased to see us whenever he's been left to his own devices while we work or are out, greeting us with his tail held high and purring loudly, giving us his cat greeting of hello, rubbing his nose with ours when we pick him up.
Thanks to Bristol Cat Rescue for introducing us to Neo and helping us adopt him - we couldn't imagine our home without him!
Hi, just wanted to drop you a line with an update on Rambo.
He has been living with us now since March and he is just purrrfect! From day one he has been loving and affectionate, my little furry friend following me all around the house, i couldn't wish for a better cat, even when he taps me on the head at 4am every morning for his biscuits!
He loves the garden, although doesn't venture far and if out of sight soon comes back with the shake of the biscuit box! His favourite hobby is sunbathing and sleeping, whether that be in the sun or under the bed! He even sits in the window waiting for me to come home from work, i just love him so much!
He has a good appetite, once a week he gets a treat, cod loin from the fish counter at Tesco, it's his favourite. He sits in the kitchen looking at the steamer almost dribbling waiting for it to be cooked and licks the bowl clean!
I have attached some pics for you to see, please note I didn't take him on holiday in the suitcase, he is just very inquisitive!
I would like to thank Helen, who looked after Rambo before I rehomed him and Donna who homechecked him and has helped me so much, you have been brilliant!
So thank you for my little Rambo.
Just thought that I would write to you to let you know how things are going with Magic (I have kept her original name as it suits her so very well).
You may remember her as the little black female cat with a grass allergy, so has to be an indoor cat.
I collected her from her previous owner on my birthday 1st April (the best birthday present) which was the Thursday before the Easter weekend, so I had a good 5 days to get her settled into my flat before I would have to go back out to work.
She has settled in so well. Her allergy has settled and she has put on some weight and her coat is looking fabulous!! She is coping very well with having to live indoors permanently and loves to chase her catnip mice around the living room!!! Her favourite time for doing this is at around 1am, just as I am about to go to bed!!! Bless her timing!!!

She is also very good with a 5am alarm call, just to let me know that she is around, a quick fuss later and she settles again until the alarm proper goes off at around 7am!
I have kept in touch with her previous owner with updates and photos and she and her family are going to pop over and visit her sometime.
I enclose some photos so that you can see just how settled and happy she is.
One other thing she talks for England!!! You can certainly tell that she has Siamese in her!!!
Thank you so much for putting me in touch with Magic and her previous family and I wish you all well in re-homing all those cats that need a wonderful new home for whatever the reason. The work that you do is invaluable.
We just thought we would let you know how Molly (was Kira) is getting on after having her for three months. When we first met her she was so friendly and all over us so we instantly knew she was the cat for us!! After getting her to her new home and hiding under the futon for a few hours she came out wanting cuddles and after that she has never looked back. Her personality has developed even more than when we first met her into a wonderful, loving cat and she purrs all the time. Molly loves talking to us and likes to wake you in the early hours of the morning purring and wanting to be fussed. After a slow and difficult start getting to know the cat (Charlie) we already had, they are finally starting to come round and we are hoping they will eventually be friends as time goes on. She has been going outside for a month now but doesn't go very far and keeps coming back to check we are around. Molly is a great addition to our family, she is very spoilt and we love her to bits.
We just wanted to say thanks to B&W Cat rescue for Molly and all that you do for the kittens/cats.

It is now 5 months since we collected Millie (on one of the snowiest days of the year) who was then 9 months old (making her 1 year old in April), from Jen, her ‘foster mum’. She had only been there for a couple of days with her mum (Ruby) and brother (Tubbs) and three younger siblings but we knew at once that she was ‘the cat for us’. Millie settled in quickly with us, spending the first 6 to 8 weeks inside as the bad weather delayed her being spayed. Once she had her operation, she had to wear a ‘lampshade’ for two weeks as she bit out her stitches as soon as she came round from the anaesthetic and had to be stapled!
We knew then that she was going to be a character and quite different from, Cassie, our previous cat; a rather stately old lady of 12. Now that it is warmer and sunnier, Millie’s favourite place is our garden and our neighbour’s garden. She spends hours out there either sleeping or just watching whatever it is that cats watch!
Millie has also become a model. She is the subject of my daughter, Katie’s, GCSE art project and, as well as paintings, drawings and photographs, there are collages and an intriguing hollowed out book all featuring Millie – and a few other cats.
My mother-in-law’s dog, a 5 year old Jack Russell called Bella, has been living with us temporarily since quite soon after we had Millie so she has had to adapt to sharing her new home. Although, to the best of our knowledge, Millie had never met a dog before she quickly became ‘the boss’. Bella was used to our previous cat ignoring her and has been quite bemused by a younger cat’s antics. Millie would love to have her as a playmate but Bella has other ideas and prefers to curl up in her bed and sleep – if she gets the chance – and Millie does not try to join her there. However, it is amusing seeing them both vie for my attention, particularly around feeding time.
We love having Millie and we hope she loves us!
Just thought I'd let you know how well Cookie has already settled in. Such a gentle loving cat with a playful nature.
I thought I would give you a quick update on Florence and Freddie. Florence is the liveliest loves chasing round the house. Freddie is the soppy one although he can give as good as he gets from Florence. They have had their injections now and as the weather has been so nice they have started exploring outside – just in the confines of the garden. Florence has already had a go at climbing up the wall with her bare claws, so it won’t be long before she explores further. They have both doubled in size since we picked them up – we are really enjoying their kitten stage before they grow up to much! They have settled in so well that we can't remember life without them!
We decided to give Cordy and Willow a home and they joined us early this year as we had unfortunately lost our lovely 17 year old tortoiseshell called Willow a few months before.
Cordy and Willow have been with us around 4 months now and I think you will see from the pictures that they have settled in very nicely.
It did take a few weeks for Cordy to get relaxed with us and she spent quite a bit of time on top of our kitchen cupboards looking down at us from a safe height. Willow was much braver and wanted to cuddle up from quite early in our newly formed family.
We feel that the girls are now very settled and we think that they are fabulous. We have enjoyed finding out about their characters. Cordy is a licky cat and likes the outdoors. It is like having a teenager in the house as she like to be out at night and sleeps in during the morning. Willow likes to settle on our laps or on the sofa next to us in the evening. You can see Willow asleep under some patchwork that I am trying to put together.
As we live in the countryside, they both have access to lots of fields and seem to love prowling around in the field behind us. Both have lost a little weight but the vet says they are fit and healthy, their coats are lovely and they eat well.
Thank you so much for letting us adopt these lovely cats. I do hope that their previous owner reads this ‘happy ending’. They are certainly lovely cats, very well behaved and a real credit to her.
Tubbs adopted our family in Jan 2010 & is well & truly settled – in fact he behaves more like a dog following us everywhere & coming to call !
He lives in the country with dogs, horses ,chickens & ducks & takes everything in his stride & at the end of a tiring day likes nothing better than to curl up on one of our beds for the night sometimes on his own or sometimes with his little black & white friend ! Tubbs is very much loved by us all & we are so lucky to have found him !
Just thought you might like an update on Simon(Hickory). He has settled in very well, but has not been allowed out yet as has to wait 4 weeks for his vaccination to be fully effective. (so I am told by Lucy who vaccinated him as soon as we got home - he didn't bat an eyelid!!) I carried him outside this morning and he was quite gobsmacked!! Eyes on stalks!! He just wanted to come back in almost immediately which was good. I think he will be quite a hunter though - loves chasing his toys around the house and doesn't seem phased by anything. He is just absolutely gorgeous - he now lies in my arms like a baby and lets me tickle his tum! I am going to try and attach a photo of him, hopefully it will work, but i am not too good with technical things. He has just jumped on my lap - think he wants to send his love to you!
His most recent accidents have been knocking a glass of water over on my bedside cabinet at 2 a.m. and soaking me, doing circuit training around the bedroom at about 4 a.m. using me as a sort of trampoline in the middle of the circuit! and last night he knocked my bedside lamp over at 5 a.m and set all the dogs off barking. Bless!! Still love him to bits!
We thought we would let you know how Daughter/Patches (now Knickmops) has been doing since we adopted her in January.
We are absolutely loving our cat and cannot imagine life without her anymore. She has changed so much. Initially, she was shy and timid, would not cuddle much and not play at all. She is still shy and timid towards guests and sometimes with my husband, but certainly not with me anymore. She comes and wakes me up in the mornings by putting her nose upon mine. If that doesn't wake me up, I'll get a tap on my nose next. She owns the whole house and races from one room to another, chasing her toys all over the place.
Her favourite toy is a red plastic ball from a children's ball pit. And she loves her cuddles! If I have a rest on the sofa, she will cuddle up with me within minutes. If I go to bed, I always have a cat warming my chest :) She is very gentle and loving, but can be quite cheeky and naughty at times. She is chipped and vaccinated now, but does not have all the "outdoor vaccinations" yet, so for now she will be able to enjoy the garden with a harness. She's certainly proven that she loves the outdoors as much as a good cuddle.
I thought you may like some pics of the kittens.
They're thriving well, and running around the house like mad things. They're both lovely & very friendly - they both purr now.
Thank you & I'll keep you updated.
I've now been living in my new home for 4 months and wanted to let you know how I'm getting on. Well, I think I've landed on my feet here and I settled in from day one. It took me a few days to get used to carpets and to stop using my claws to help me walk around. I've now got the hang of it and only use my claws when playing with my toys and secret sofa bashing when they're not looking. My family look after me really well. In fact they probably spoil me, but I'm not going to say anything because I enjoy the attention. Although I'm not sure my 3.30 am wake up call by scratching on the bedroom door is always completely welcomed? Since I've been in my new home I've put on almost 1 kg and now weigh 2.2 kg, which is good for me. It's probably all those treats I get when I've been good!

My day mainly consists of eating, snoozing and playing outside. I enjoy being outside and I'm learning new skills all the time. I have a lovely little garden to play in and sometimes venture into the gardens either side. I particularly enjoy watching the birds in next door's garden, although it can be quite frustrating when they always fly off.
I'm a content little cat and have my nose into everything, I often shadow mum around just in case she's doing something interesting and sometimes I take my favourite toy to dad and ask him to play with me. He often obliges, but I think I tire him out sometimes.
Anyway, I wanted to thank you for looking after me and to also thank you for finding me a lovely new home.
I've sent a couple of photos for you so you can see how I'm getting on.
(little) Alice
Just to let you know that Jet is doing really well, she has put on weight and is eager to go out although she's not alllowed just yet. Have contacted people to have her chipped am just waiting for them to get back to me then I can insure her and get her spayed so as she can go into the big wide world like Nut my big ginger cat. He's very good with Jet and I'm sure when she's allowed out he will be there for her. Here are a few pictures of Jet. Will keep you posted as to her progress
I just wanted to say thanks to you and B&W Cat rescue for our kitten.

It's been 6 weeks since we brought Paddy (was Harry) home and thought you would like to hear how he is getting on.
Once we got him home, it took about 6 hours before he decided to be brave and come out from behind a cabinet where he had decided to wedge himself. Since then he hasn't looked back and his personality has developed into a really loving, confident little man. He is our shadow and will follow us into every room we go in to, and although he is not one for lots and lots of love and fuss, he always likes to be near us and likes to have a cuddle on an evening.
He still swipes and bites on occasions, but considering what he has been through this is nothing, it is just him reminding us he wants things on his terms, which he always gets as he is spoilt rotten!
We are so pleased he is part of our family, and we know he is too as he is so relaxed, settled and confident around us. We love him to bits. Thankyou for being so helpful in our search to adopt.

I wanted to let you know how Oscar, the ginger tom I rehomed on Christmas Eve has settled in. As you can see from the picture attached, he has managed to make my other cat Holly love him too so she will even share her favourite spot in the garden with him. It wasn't so easy at first, she had gotten used to having me to herself and wasn't so keen to share. She still has her moments but now he will go up to her and give her a little kiss on the nose which she condescends to allow!
He has brought us both a lot of pleasure and I'm so grateful to have been able to offer him a home, he seems happy with the arrangement too judging from the noise he's making as he vies for space on my lap with the laptop.

We've had our little kittens nearly two weeks now and they are doing very well. Often peaceful and very cute, sometimes absolutely manic, but so adorable (even if their claws are a little sharp!).
Thank you for looking after them for their first 8 weeks of life.

Just to let you know Dandy is settling in just fine. He follows me everywhere and is so affectionate.
Thank you all, for making it possible for me to re-home him.

Update 15/06/10
Here are some recent photos of Maximus – sorry it’s taken so long. He now has a full title of Lord Maximus Jam Sandwich, or Jammy Max for short! He’s settled in ever so well. His skin has now totally cleared up and he’s turned into a total fluff-ball. His general health is much better now and that’s reflected in his energy – he’s been tearing around the house, stalking absolutely everything, and doing a whole lot of attention seeking! And he’s ever so friendly and good natured, even when my parent’s dog comes over. Couldn’t really ask for more!!

Maximus has settled in very well to his new home. He’s definitely made himself at home and his character is really starting to come through. For the first 5 or 6 days he spent most of his time asleep but in the last couple of days he’s suddenly become really active and has been tearing around chasing shoe laces and stalking biros! It’s lovely to see him more chirpy – even if it does make tying your shoe laces very difficult!! We’ve had all sorts of friends and family over to meet him and he’s loved the attention.
He now has a favourite spot on the window sill where he looks out and watches the birds, and has taken ownership of the sofa (and not even sniffed the basket we bought him specially). He’s cleverly discovered that we have a hot water pipe running under the floor in the hall way and so that’s another of his favourite places to curl up.
He’s eating very well (and tries to jump in the fridge/freezer/food cupboards whenever they’re opened) and I think he may have put on a bit of weight already and is looking a bit brighter and more healthy. All in all he’s settling in very well and is a pleasure to have around – we’re so happy to have him!
We just thought we would let you know how Milo is getting on with us since we collected him in Dec.
We were surprised at how soon he seemed to settle in and make himself at home, as soon as we got back from picking him up he was right at home- sprawled out across the living room, sleeping in the bed, waking us up for his breakfast and having a good look out of the catflap (though it was still locked). And since then he's just made himself more at home- he manages to take up at least one third of the bed most nights and can be quite the little duvet hog! He is like a second alarm clock in the morning, when Milo is ready for breakfast we all know about it...
We have a tree right outside the living room window and he loves to sit and watch the birds come and go and often tells us what they are upto, with a squawky "meaow". The only toys he's interested in are ones with bits of long string that he can chase, but when he gets one he loves it and we are convinced he runs and slides across the floor on the rug on purpose! He has pretty much made the descision to be a house cat by himself 90% of the time, but does occasionally go out-though I'm sure he waits for someone to come home before he ventures out-somedays he is in exactly the same spot when I come home as when I go out, don't think he's moved all day-lazy bones! When he does go out he doesn't go far and comes running in though the cat flap at such a speed- he has already managed to snap one door of the hinge, so we had to find a replacement.
As for his "food issues", he is on a strict diet (when we took him to the vet he weighed 7.5kg!! Though they did agree he's just big- visitors have commented that he's not a cat but a dog!) He can beg for food but hasn't shown much interest in food other than cat food which is good, as after reading the letter that came with him about him eating Jaffa Cakes and frozen bread we were a little worried. As for his being sick, it has gotten less and less frequent so that's good.
Over all Milo is a very happy pusscat and we are very happy pusscat owners. Thankyou so much for giving us the chance to adopt him and give him a second (or third) chance. I've attched a couple of photos I though you might like to see him in his new digs.
I thought you might like an update on how Katie's been getting on in her first couple of months with us… Firstly we renamed her Inca
She’s come out of her shell since the first couple of weeks, and has got into her own routine, her favourite part of the day is coming into the bedroom to wake us both up for breakfast at 6am! She’s been racing around the flat chasing her toys, and loves her catnip mice and ping pong balls, but god knows where she hides them all! A few weeks back I had to manufacture another litter tray from a storage box, as she kicked her litter all around the kitchen, so that seems to have done the trick.
Unfortunately she’s had one or two health issues but needless to say, she’s become a firm favourite with the nurses at the vets!
Despite all the mishaps though, she’s been lovely, it’s so nice to come home from work and have her come running down the stairs to say hello. She’s very much the boss in our home now and loves a conversation, but we wouldn’t have her any other way!
I wanted to let you know how Tumbler Boy ( who is now called Scooby) is getting on. He is about 6 months old now and has completley settled in with us, our 3 kids and our 2 other 8 year old cats.
So just wanted to say thankyou and let you know he is very happy and so are we. |
Just thought i'd give you a little update on Misty Poo!!
She really is turning into a great little pal, better than i could ever have hoped for!!

She greets me at the top of the steps every time i come home from work, she really is a lap cat, forever purring and now brupping!!! If you now what that means! Lol
She's even sometimes managing a little meow when waiting for dinner.
Oh and she loves to play, a lot!!!
So rest assured she has really landed on her feet and tends to treat new people in the house with the same enthusiasm as she does for me.
I just wanted to write to let you know how Ockle (formally known as Simba) is doing. We knew she would be great with the kids when after just one day she was enjoying tea parties with teddies and sleeping at the foot of my 4 year olds bed. She was a little tentative about the world outside the back door (having been kept in all her life) but is now thoroughly enjoying it and even bought us a live mouse in bed the other morning!
She is the perfect combination of purr monster and lunatic ... which suits us all for playtimes and cuddle times.

So many thanks from us all for a great adoption!
I would just like to drop you a quick email to thank you very much for allowing us to adopt Ruby and Nell. It is now just over a year since we got them and they have both developed so much.
They are both very different characters and both full of life. Nell is now doing really well after overcoming her flu, she is now bigger that her sister and is not afraid of anything. Ruby is very much the timid one who has a mischievous streak in her.
They both are very important members of our family and really give us great joy. Our Staffie is still being terrorised by them but he has learnt to put up with them.
Once again thank you

Remember me (Ginge) my name is now Rufus, and I was rescued from off the streets of Bristol, I now live in the Cotswolds with a huge garden to play in, I came to live with my new owners in December, I was quite naughty when I arrived, by scratching the newly decorated kitchen wall paper, and scratching and nipping my owners.
I now go outside but not too far away, I use the cat flap to let myself out but as the door is left open for me I always come back in that way I love sleeping in my snuggly cat bed, but prefer to sleep on the big bed where I can snuggle under the duvet. Di, my new owner, has taught me to eat my food in the dish on the floor, not on the counter top; as I am the only cat I am fed three times a day with a mixture of wet and dry food, and a tit bit called Temptations as a treat when I have been good
I am growing into a big cat hence the photograph, I love living with my new owners and thank you for rescuing me and finding me such a lovely place for me to live and rule. Rufus
I just wanted to give you an update on Millie (formerly Penelope, we adopted her early Jan). We are so happy we adopted her; she has really turned our house into a real home and I love coming back from work every day to her loud purring. She’s so affectionate – quite naughty but never OTT, just hyperactive! – and we love playing with her. She seems happy too – she’s put on weight, is far less skittish, and basically just drapes herself in long shapes around the house, purring. When I work from home she sits on my lap all day; she’s lovely company.
A massive thank you to Tracey and Tyler for fostering her, and to you all for all your amazing work with neglected and abandoned cats. The stories on your website are so sad initially, and really heartwarming later on. I can’t tell you how glad we are that we came to you. It’s amazing seeing a frightened, skinny cat turning into a healthy, happy pet.

Tommy (ginger one) sits looking out the patio window over the balcony where he can see all of the ground. He makes that chattering noise every time he sees a bird and you can see him thinking to himself, one day this territory will all be mine.
Princess ( black and white one) Named by my daughter, but actually she is well named as she goes around as if she is a princess. Can be shy, but always very proud.
Tabatha (white and tabby one) She's very bold and keeps tormenting the dog, (sometimes the other 2 join her in the game). She likes to be with you most of the time and lies down as close to you as possible.

And finally look at him now... the final proof that Posy and Murphy have settled down together - Posy looked a bit embarrassed at being caught out but as Murphy was in her chair she obviously thought if you can't beat 'em join 'em!
March 2010, Murphy on the prowl.
We've moved back up to where we used to live, and as you can see from the photo above Murphy has settled in well - this was taken on day 2 - keep him in for 3 weeks, no chance! He's as energetic as ever but at least with a cat flap here he can run his energy off outside instead of plaguing poor Posy. They're getting on better and better each day.

Well he's settled in no problem. Explored the whole house, sampled all the different food on offer, enjoyed all the toys in the toy corner and finally settled on top of me to watch television all the time ignoring Posy who has not moved from the back of the sofa growling at him. She's used to dogs beating a hasty retreat when she growls - doesn't know what to make of Murphy who just carries on!

Just to let you know that Maya (female Silver Tabby x Ginger Tom cross from
Pembrokeshire) is doing very well. She weighs a little more than 800g now
and we will be taking her into the vet to start her inoculations soon. She
has settled well in to the house and its hard to remember life without her
now!
Attached is a picture taken over the weekend. She likes to sit on our
shoulders and survey the goings on, when she isn't tearing around the house
playing 'ambush' or 'hide-and-seek' with the children! It has been
difficult to get photos of her as she's so inquisitive that she moves about
to investigate the camera and it's almost impossible to get the camera to
auto-focus!
