Bristol And Wales Cat Rescue

We're rehoming, on average, 40 cats and kittens each month which is wonderful but very hard work!

We're a friendly, sociable bunch from all walks of life and we would love some new volunteers to join us - we especially need new foster homes as we are constantly having to turn needy cats away through lack of space.

Fosterer: The most demanding but ultimately most rewarding role. Do you like the sound of having different kittens or cats to look after every few weeks? Could you love, cuddle, feed and clean a cat and then give it up to a homechecked new owner? Do you have a spare room in your home that is not being used. If the answer is yes then why not foster for us? You will be given full training and have 24 hour support and all equipment will be provided. We have 27 foster homes at the moment but always seem to have around 30 cats needing to come in!

This is Tracey one of our super fosterers.  Tracey is so dedicated that she stayed up all night to trap a lost soul....her patience was rewarded when she re-united frightened  cat with grateful owner.  What a star!

Home checker: Can you spare an hour here and there? Could you go out to new adopters' homes and talk about cats?

Home checking / visiting is a vital role; it enables us to answer questions and provide information to new would-be adopters. We provide full training for this role. You do not need to be a cat expert, all you need is common sense, transport and a little diplomacy. 

Transporters: If you have a car and some free time but fostering is a bit too much and you are not keen on the idea of home checking then why not be one of our transporters? It involves delivering supplies (food, cat litter and cats of course!) to the fosterers and may involve trips across the Bridge to Wales to collect more homeless moggies.

Fundraising:  How about collecting with us for a few hours outside a supermarket or shopping centre?  All you need to do is hold a tin and smile! And you get to meet some lovely people. We usually have one street collection per month and require at least four people at each.
